So i am going to put a little picatinny rail on the front of my stock. It uses a longer swivel stud and then the front hole you drill into stock and epoxy a screw in as seen here:

How to add a bipod picatinny rail mount to a rifle | goHUNT

My concern is my stock is a carbon fiber wrapped compressed foam, so would i be better off to back the stock or just go with epoxied screw.

I just worry the screw may pull out of compressed foam stock. Its on an xbolt pro so just curious if anybody has experience or has done it?

it is best to go into the barrel channel and either insert a threaded insert, or a t-nut. I used t-nuts on a Christianson arms stock without any trouble. I bought the t-nuts from Ace hardware, they are 10/32 thread pitch. The overall diameter of the t-nut is 3/4" so very little chance of the t-nut pulling through. I used some 5 minute epoxy to glue them in place

Thanks!! I was thinking it would need something. That gives me a good starting point for what to use in the barrel channel.

Did you have to countersink the t nut just a little bit to ensure barrel clearance?

I’ll only have to do one because the adapter I am using will use the existing swivel stud mount as well
