Looking at some options for a lightweight rifle with slim countour carbon fiber stock.
Its mainly a deer rifle but also some mountain hunting and longer range practice.I want to keep the stock as smooth as possable as its hand carried a lot.
Will use a avil 30 knockoff, bag and Spartan bipod depending on situation.I deer hunt a lot so i bet sitting with taller bipod will get the most use.
I’m looking at a few options.
If doing Spartans only i can get a Arca adapter to Spartan or just get a devros but may loose some versatility.
Does a davros work as good.
I like option 4 but wish the spartan section had a larger ring around it midway to cover the minor gap since it is screwed in and not epoxied.
1.Spartan adapter 1 or 2 in stock
2.Spartan adapter separate and short pic rail
3.Pic rail with external Spartan
4.Pic rail with internal Spartan

Feel free to call me if you want to discuss Spartan options. There is another new option from a third party coming out which is pretty cool, I can put you in touch with them, it's in beta, but they have some I think they would get you. Has a pic, arc and spartan hole in it.

@Happy Antelope I assume you're referencing the SRS Trinity Rail? I'm currently trying to solve the same problem as OP. Trinity seems great, but I don't see a spot to attach my sling after sacrificing both sling studs to mount that trinity. Am I missing something?

You are 100% correct there is no sling adapter. I didn't notice that in the past, ya thats a bit of a bummer.

On paper this is the best and probably cheapest option (if done at home), but I pucker thinking about drilling into my $700 peak 44 stock. Any personal experience or positive encouragement would be appreciated
I have them in every rifle I have. They are by far the slickest and best way if you want to use the spartan system.

Spartan has a good video showing how to install in stock. Only do it yourself if you have a good drill press and know how to use it. If not, just pay your gunsmith 50 bucks to do it. I’ve done all mine myself besides the first one the gunsmith did. They all look and work the same.
