Pic rail or not

I’ve mounted optics on a few Tikkas now and have used Area 419 rails, epoxied on, and either Warne Mountain Techs or NF UL on them. I’m happy with this setup, but have recently paid more attention to Sportsmatch and UM setups.

I believe that I mount my scopes further back than most, so I assumed I was best suited to a pic rail and ring setup.

So, my question is: do I keep on keeping on with these rails and rings, or do I give tve Sprtsmatch or Unknown Munitions setups a try? It looks like my front ring is just about splitting the opening of the breech in my current setups. Without either of those ring setups in hand, I’m not sure if I’d get the scope back far enough.

This has been my experience with all scopes I’ve mounted, including NX8’s, Maven 2-10x38 (the least forgiving on eye relief of the bunch), and a couple different Trijicon models.

I've gone to picatinny s. Some of the scopes are so short it's about the only option.

Thanks. I think I am going to keep using the rail and rings as well. I haven't done it, but having the ability to "easily swap" scopes could be a good perk of that system as well.
