Maybe a pocket gopher since it has long claws for digging and the long tail. Can anyone ID this fox's dinner? Taken above 9,000' in CO. My first thought was muskrat, but this wasn't near any water.
I think that's right; definitely not a marmot or pika. Every year when the snow melts, there are heaps of 'dirt core' tunnels around here, and now I think I know which critters make them.Maybe a pocket gopher since it has long claws for digging and the long tail.
But fortunately one of them did.Unfortunately, one of them didn’t make it.
