A few pictures from a hike in Iceland along the Mid-Atlantic Ridge*...
*For context, the Mid-Atlantic Ridge is part of the longest mountain range on earth, which runs primarily under the ocean. It does reach high enough elevation to extend above sea level at just a few locations on earth...Iceland is one of those. The Ridge is formed at the junction of major tectonic plates with an average gapping rate of an inch each year.
Sorry that this is not in compliance with the one photo a day, but this is a tribute to our wonderful chocolate lab that was a huge part of our family in both our children and our lives. RIP Bella, you were a wonderful companion that lived a most graceful 14 years. You were raised with my children and my family and we will surly miss you. You kept the bears out of our camp, fetched up many birds, and you were just a wonderful river dog in general. Thank you for your companionship sweetheart, your family is going to miss you terribly, safe travels.
