1,600 feet above Logan. It's nice that enough of the snow has melted to drive on some of the lower south facing slopes. This particular trail has a stretch that climbs 800 feet vertically in 2,900 horizontal feet (average of 27.5%) on loose rocks/dirt/gravel. Some parts are a lot steeper than others, so max grade is probably at least forty-some %.

That brings back fond memories. I used to live in Logan in the 1980s...back then a season pass at Beaver Mountain was $75 and I rarely saw anyone hiking or hunting blue grouse. Excellent trout fishing, hiking, skiing, and a 90 day duck season was pretty nice....

Wrapped up the ice fishing season last week...was incredible fishing locally.

Iced 6 of these was able to release all but this one as it was hooked really deep. Caught 3 others this size, 2 that were a couple inches bigger.

Lots of smaller fish that will be another 6-7 inches bigger by next winter.
