Been using a Razor HD 20-60 x 85mm for awhile now and wanting to get a digiscoping setup. Seems like there are a few changes to the various models since I last looked 4-5 years ago. What setups are y'all running and what do you like / dislike?

For context, I spend anywhere from 15-30 days throughout the summer scouting. Once the season(s) roll around, I probably spend another 30-45 days actually hunting various tags (sometimes just mornings before work, or evenings afterwards). I plan to get a lot of use out of this product and want to ensure it'll hold up over the years while also being easy to configure and use, etc.

Saw good conversations with some pro / con lists here and here. Lots of people seem to run Ollin but complain about having to spend for another case when they upgrade phones - not an issue for me, I had an iPhone 10 until recently upgrading to the 16, I keep stuff for a long time and take care of it. For this reason I'm leaning towards the Ollin. Seeing people complain about alignment issues with the MagView. I just don't have any experience digiscoping so I'm not sure what to look out for between models. Also, none of my buddies have ever had a system for me to get my hands on.

Mountain Mag from Epoch Outdoors - love it

Used both Ollin & MagView and i prefer the MagView. I also keep phones for a long time, so the upgrading phone case isn't a huge negative for me. The main negative is that my spotter is in my truck and get used periodically 12 months out of the year and having the Ollin phone case on my phone year-round is just not an option. But the MagView plate is unnoticeable and is ready to be attached to spotter whenever needed. Also like to note that there is a learning curve to getting proper alignment with the MagView but after a while is a non-issue.

I used to love the MagView, but I upgraded my phone to an iPhone 16 from a 12, and now the MagView struggles with the weight of the phone. I can use it with the phone vertical and the adapter either straight up or straight down, but then I lose my ability to easily use it with my eye. I haven’t changed over yet but I probably will try Ollin soon. I stayed away because of needing a specific case, but now I’m thinking it would be worth it.

I've been really impressed with the OnGlass system. I've had pretty much the same gripes as others, phone skope and Ollin the cost to upgrade your optic or phone was a big turnoff as well as didn't like having to have the case. I bought a magview B1 for binos and the alignment was an issue, along with the strength of the magnet, my phone would slide out of alignment and I'd end up having to hold it. That never made it out of my dining room before i bought the onglass.

The OnGlass has the keyed setup along with the magnets, which i think is a must if you're using magnets. i've had to try really hard to get it to misalign, like tossing my phone at it from 6+ inches away and it'll still grab and be aligned.

As far as cons to onglass:
-there is still a cost to change phone/optic but it's lower, in the $30-40 range. as you only have to change 1 of 3 pieces when you upgrade.
-it's set up so that the adapter that attaches to the optic is easily removable, meaning when you aren't glassing you will likely carry it separate. for binos I personally like this but maybe some see it as a con
-you do have to take care when installing the tab on your phone, if this is misaligned you'll be off on your glass. they give you an alignment tool to do this, but something to be careful and double check

that's interesting, I guess I'm lucky that i still use an iPhone 12 mini

I recently switched from Ollin to the Epoch Mountain Mag. Much better, simpler, streamlined setup.
