Perfect Bolt Action

So what do you think is the most perfect bolt action, action?

-Design
-Execution, Tolerances
-Smoothness, Rattle free, Bank vault solidness

Could be an old design, clone, modern component etc.
I am a lefty an have been looking at various rifles old and new. Military and Sporting.

Anything jump out as the holy Grail?

For reference I have found this my shotguns. A Krieghoff and a Kolar.

Beat me to it... every one i have used had terrible timing and the heaviest bolt lift you could imagine.

My vote goes to lone peak steel actions.

Noise.
Some bolt actions just make the perfect noise. Old Mauser 98s, push feed M70s.... they just sound right to me.
There's no denying that Sako, Tikka, Blazer etc have amazingly smooth, slick actions but they just don't make the right noise!

Borden Accuracy actions. They have a model for just about any application.

American Rifle Company. All three of their offerings are fantastic. Brilliant engineering, impeccable machining and finish, and ultra smooth, solid performance and reliability. Their “base model” Nucleus is one of the best values for a top-shelf custom action today, in my opinion.

All their stuff is Rem700 footprint and trigger compatible, and off the shelf Savage small-shank barrels or many barrel companies are getting on board with prefits.

All indications are they are amazing in function, I just wish they looked a little more traditional.

I’m really digging my Zermatt/Bighorn action. Has CRF, prefit barrels I can screw on at home, compatible with Remington aftermarket’s parts (stock, trigger, etc.), field strippable bolt (without tools), interchangeable bolt heads, and great customer service.

I like to tinker and the Zermatt actions scratch that itch in spades.

Or a Bighorn/Zermatt action. It doesn’t have the massive claw, but it functions exactly as a Mauser 98 or Winchester M70 does.
