Worst case, they can be like the Merino socks you can get at Costco. While I don't think they compare to my Darn Toughs, they are still decent socks and I wore them all winter as casual socks.

I got a couple pairs this Christmas and I like them. Seem to be pretty well made, tougher than Cabela's brand, etc. Haven't had them long enough to say much about durability.

Even if they aren't good for hiking I'm sure they are fine for daily and even tree stand sits.

Got my people socks in the mail today. First impressions is that they are well made. They are definitely thick and seem as though they are meant for colder temperatures.
