I’m in the Hill Country of Central Texas. I’ve just learned there’s a market for hosting hog hunts. We kill them all year long 24/7. They tear up so much stuff it might be nice to host a hunt to help pay for fences, crops, etc. What is the going rate? It’d be a sure thing hunt. The average pig is 200#, but we’ve had a couple boars push 400#. Pics are just randomly selected from the past two days. I’ve literally got 1000s of similar pictures from the past 12 months.
Just wondering. Any insight is much appreciated.

You’re in Texas and just now learning that people charge to kill hogs? How big is the rock you live under?

All jokes aside, yes, people pay for it. Google some outfitters and their prices but it’s usually a couple hundred bucks from what I’ve seen.

I’ve never paid to go but I see people doing it all the time. Never sat right with me to play both sides of the coin with “they’re breaking my stuff, please come kill them…. But pay me $200 for the opportunity”

Yep. People who don’t have to deal with them where they are. I realized it a long, long time ago, but being in South Alabama it really surprised me as well as were covered up in them. More to em

Are you trapping?
Why the fence around the feeder if the hogs are inside?

Yes but it’s only because landowners can charge for them.

If they were as a big a nuisance as people say they are, they would let people come shoot em for free.

Same with prairie dogs up north..... Have a guy I work with that does it at night with a thermal drone to spot and thermals on the rifles. They slay them. Huge hog last night. With his investment, I can see having folks pay to recoup some of the cost. They do it for fun, kill hundreds a year and it doesn't make a dent. All legal and on the up and up. Pretty much anything goes to kill them in OK.
