I would pick either the Pentax or Nikon for their ability to take different eyepieces. Some of which are mind blowing

nikon tends to have more saturated colors

I heard that Nikon Monarch ed fieldscope manual says not to use the scope in the rain. Does this also apply to older fieldscope 82ed and the pentax pf series? Pentax has little yellowish hue, I heard, from the Lanthanum glass. For the Nikon, I am not sure where this saturation might come from. In terms of eye relief, I heard that Nikon zoom eyepieces (14.5mm newer, 13.8mm for older fieldscope) are much tighter than the Pentax (18-20mm). Anyone uses the Fieldscope with eyeglasses or this is not for eyeglasses wearers?

Thanks. I saw that ad earlier too. It a smashing scope, but the 14mm eye-relief seems little too tight as I wear eyeglasses. I am guessing the eye relief will get shorter at higher powers.

The 30x eyepiece it comes with is 19mm in eye relief, plus it’s superwide in FOV

thats a great scope

choices...choices....I am going to hit myself for not getting it now later, but I have decided to give it a shot after the hunting season. Thank you so much for the heads up.

Not 80mm- but have gen1 65 razor and had Nikon ed65 - the razor edges the Nikon slightly- both a good scopes. Never looked in a Pentax.
