Cabelas has Pelican Vault Double Rifle cases are on sale for 159$ currently. Just picked one up and figured I’d pass the info along. Cashier said it’s also available online for same price.

From what I gather its quality. Different materials. And a few other things I'm gonna paste here.
I'm sure there more then durable for most

  • Possibly the level of watertightness. The Vault cases are currently in testing to establish if they can be called "water tight". They have a gasket similar to the Protector line, but until the results come back they are officially termed "weather resistant".
  • Push button latches instead of the double-throw latches of the Protector line. For some people, this may be a big plus.
  • One year limited guarantee instead of lifetime guarantee.
  • The handles on the cases are not padded

Not to hijack or change opinions, but you may want to look at the RTIC cases. $115 with free shipping.
They are not as good as Pelican top end, but may be the same if not better than this model. I picked one up and although not perfect, it is a really nice case.
Also, be advised that the pelican double case will hold two rifles, but depending on the rifle/scope combo, will be an extremely tight fit, if not able to fit at all.
I played around with it when I got it and with my LR rifle in there, in order to get another scoped rifle in there you will not have much foam padding between the rifle and inside case. For regular transport I don’t think it would be an issue, but for airline travel, I would be nervous.

We stopped at Cabela's today and looked at the three models on sale right now. They also had a Pelican 1750 out. Bought that. Figured for another $100 I would just cry once. Been using cheap cases for years.
