Looking for some insight from anyone who has converted a Pelican 1745 bow case to a rifle setup. I’ve got a line out to Pelican, but they’re slow on a response.

I found a great deal on a 1745 locally, but it turns out it’s the bow configuration with the padded divider system rather than the rifle foam. I’d be using it for airline travel with a bolt-action rifle in the near future, but having the bow “guts” for a bow trip one day would be awesome.

A few questions for anyone who has done this:

• Is the bow interior easily removable?
• Did you replace it with Pelican foam, or something else? Did you source it from Pelican?
• Any downsides to starting with the bow version instead of the rifle version?

The shell itself looks basically new, so I’m trying to decide if converting it is worth it or if I should just hold out for the rifle configuration.

Appreciate any firsthand experience.
