I’ve not even had them on my legs/boots so I’m probably not the person to ask, wish I had a better answer for ya.

The material is pretty stout, and sort of like a canvas texture. I don’t think they would be “noisier” than my other gaters but I can’t honestly say

I didn’t realize Peax changed their sizing. Here is a pic of the sizing for more clarity. This set measures as a current size large but the height is 15.75/16instead of the 16.25 of the current L model…see pics
