Ive got a weatherby alpine ct that is inletted for bdl bottom metal, long story short. I hate bdl bottom metal. I bought this rifle thinking I would get over the hinged floor plate and just live with it. Can this stock be inletted for m5 bottom metal? Ive called weatherby, peak 44 and snowy mountain rifles, they all just get wishy washy about it when I ask. I would just use Wyatts dbm but the gun is a 6.5prc and if im gonna spend the money for the hs precision dbm, I can get a grayboe hunter dbm and a hawkins mag for the same price and have alot more diversity in my mag choices. So basically, can this stock be inletted or will it hurt the integrity?

A guy on Weatherby 307 owners on Facebook just did his. Ran the AG bottom metal with the HP hunter mag. Can only be a short action with this combo, but I am currently looking to do the exact same thing with my alpine CT in 7PRC. Going to go with the Hawkins Precision Hunter M5 long action bottom metal and matching mag. Was contemplating going with a 3.715” COAL magazine for standard ACIS mags, but the fit of the Hunter mag is so good, it’s hard to say no. Just need to bring the stock to a smith to have him shave the inlet for M5 metal.
