I’m seeking experiences good or bad from folks who’ve used PayPal G&S to purchase an item which resulted in the item never being delivered.

What’s the course of action on getting your money back? Very easy to do through PayPal?

I plan on buying a bow from a non-Rokslider therefore, I plan on using PayPal G&S yet it’s an unknown person and I’d rather be safe than sorry.

Thanks in advance. TNT 🧨

The only time I’ve ever had a dispute was an eBay purchase that was paid through PayPal with my credit card.

The USPS man signed for my item and delivered it to the wrong address. Because there was a Signature eBay told me to kick rocks, PayPal did the same. My credit card company however believed me and refunded my money.

I personally have no trust in PayPal, especially with anything mildly related to scary stuff. It does however allow me to use my credit card, and my CC company has saved my rear end more than once in this hobby.

I take it you have your CC linked to your PayPal account then? Right now I have my debit card linked but you make a valid point!

Yes. I can name on one hand the people in the firearms community I will send a check to or use a debit card with. I’ll pay the 3% fee everyday of the week to use my credit card.

May want to call your CC before linking it to make sure their protections still apply to PayPal stuff but mine always have

I’ve had two bad experiences with a product and PayPal was great both times. Ordered a bow on eBay and the seller didn’t package it with bubble wrap, and threw in the sight loosely with a dozen arrows in the box. The cam was pretty beat up when I got it. PayPal had me return the bow and once they got the shipping confirmation, I was refunded. Second time was a mountain bike where the seller also didn’t package anything. $1400 in damage, but I didn’t have time to send back and look again. I submitted my dispute and they gave me the money for the quote back. That seller tried to close his account to prevent me from getting it and PayPal still refunded me.

That gives me some peace of mind! I ended up linking my credit card to my PayPal account. I bought a bow today for a really good price. One of those prices that makes you wonder. I spoke to the seller several times who was knowledgable however, there was some slight differences with taking accessories off the bow, adding accessories, going up & down on price even though it was clearly posted all were red flags to me.

I chalked it up to the guy being young, inexperienced and wanting to get the most bang for the bow.

Take some screen shots of the ad in case of possible discrepancies, and you shouldn’t have any issues if it’s wrong

I’ve done that twice. I guess I’m just spoiled from dealing with the outstanding men and women that makeup the Rokslide community.

Call me paranoid but can tracking numbers be forged or fake? Generally I receive a screen shot of the printed receipt. Today I received a screen shot of a label with a tracking # and when inputted into the UPS tracking website it says “label created“.

They mentioned it was a small town UPS store.

The only time I needed pay pal they told me to shove off, I have little to no confidence in them.

are you sure it was UPS not USPS ? I did the same thing but noticed it was USPS and thats where I found it

Yes I did. Even called the seller and his dad to confirm it was UPS not FedEx or USPS.

Like I said the seller seemed chatting enough just a few oddities here and there. After reading horror stories of folks getting ripped off on bow sites, Kuiu only FB page, FL etc.. I’m iffy about people.

Give it some time. If someone prints it off their computer it’ll say label created until they drop it off. I’ve seen it plenty.

He’s correct, this is pretty common. I do click and ship from my house and it shows label is created until I drop it off at the post office

You were right! Bow shipped/arrived as described.

I've only had to go through Paypal mediation twice and both times they have taken care of me. It takes a while but you should eventually be covered.

ALWAYS use G&S, it's well worth it to CYA
