After reading Stid's awesome thread about his year and gear, I was intrigued by his mention of the Patagonia Houdini. I looked it up online and found this deal for the green and blue but not the black. Still, I think the green color would work alright. Sadly I happened by REI and tried one on and they are pretty tight. An XL fit me barely but that was with just a T-shirt and I was still afraid I would bust out the seams in the shoulders and arms with any active motion. The in-store prices were still at the regular $89 (or it seems like they were actually $99) but I would suggest trying to try one on if you have that option.

+1 on a great piece of gear. It packs down unbelievably small. One recommendation would be to opt for the jacket rather than pullover, not much heavier and it really helps to be able to pull that hood over while glassing. I waited it out watching sales for a deal and paid $60, a quick google search of "Patagonia houdini jacket mens" yielded this:

available in S, M and XL. This thing does fit tight, I wear a M in everything and can barely fit a mid-weight fleece under the Houdini.

Feather grey is a good color, not sure about that purple zipper, that image may be of the womens version.
