Patagonia 50% Off Sale.

I have purchased and used Patagonia products for trail running , wildlife photography, hunting and camping.
I like the fit and quality
I look forward to this sale every year.
Spend your money where it makes you happy.

@Kootenay Hunter just curious if you're aware of their partnership with the Wildlife Defence League? By all means wear whatever keeps you warm and dry as long as you know that a dollar spent with Patagonia (especially the Vancouver location) is a dollar spent against your own hunting rights as a BC resident.

yup, and when the WDL is taken seriously and isn't just white noise, I'd be concerned. Patagonia also support dozens of other conservation initiatives that are worth while, sometimes you have to take the good with the bad.

You should probably consider stop being a BHA member as Patagonia supports them too, the water is tainted!

I like to hunt, and they may be against it. Big deal. Everyone has an opinion and I get tired of the divisive attitude.

ALSO - REI's current sale is exactly the same

Great point. I personally don't care for the brand. It is a marketing behemoth at most. Purveyor of quality equipment? Not so much in my opinion. Someone earlier in the thread referenced their partnering with BHA as pandering. Couldn't agree more, furthermore BHA is a bit questionable to me as well but thats a different threat.

Buy what you want. I've read up on Chouinard and am unimpressed. He is a "hey ive done that too guy" or one upper as some call it. Giving credit as due, he built a huge brand but he contradicts himself constantly.

Yvon Chouinard is the definition of a conservationist. Go listen to Rinella's podcast with the guy. Anyone with a problem with him has a problem with themselves.

‘They say that hunters and tree huggers can’t get together. That’s bullshit. The only way we’re going to get anything done is to work together.’ – Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia.

To bad he doesn’t follow his own advice.

OP here. I was about to post another gear deal that REI just announced. 50% off sale. I guess I better look into their politics before I do though. Wouldn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings 🤪😂

There are hunting/ fishing companies that dont do jack shit for anyone but themsleves yet never a peep is said. The selective outrage from both sides is obnoxious at this point.

Spirited debated is great... opinions and thought inspiration are the result. Let’s just make sure we don’t divide ourselves to the degree to true anti hunting groups can win the day. Keep up with debate and sharing of perspectives !!!

I think the concept of defending hunting as binary is a dark path. Taking the hardline will do nothing in the long run. Patagonia has a questionable stance on predators, and they’re a mobilizing force in the public lands debate. Looking for companies outside of hunting brands to blindly take a hunting perspective as a monolith will get real lonely.
