I had the privilege of testing out a pair of pants last winter that were mid-weight with waterproof panels from the lower legs to about the middle of the thigh in front and on the seat. The rest of the fabric was dwr water repellent with a lot of stretch, so they were easy to move around in and great in the snow without being too stuffy. Unfortunately, they were prototypes from a small company and never made it to market (I had to send them back after testing).

Now, I’m looking for something along the same line, but can’t find it. Kuiu has the Axis hybrid, but only in a men’s cut, which doesn’t fit me very well. I’ve tried searching outside of the hunting realm, but any time you include the word “waterproof” in a google search, the results are all full hard shell rain or snow pants.

Any of you found something like this for women’s pants? It also needs to be durable, as I’m mostly off trail for my hunting/trapping.

I have a pair of timberlines that are too big for me now after loosing some weight. They were ok in the water resistance area, but some side vent zippers would be nice. I’ll probably end up with those in a smaller size if I can’t find anything else.
