After too much research l got some OR Voodoo nylon pants. They are nice and ill keep them but they were an epic fail for me in the woods.

They dry nice and shed water well and they didnt rip BUT they stick to sticker bushes like velcro and offer zero protection. I went home with bloody legs. And l was trying to avoid the stickers.

Now im thinking l need something thicker that can offer a little more mechanical protection. I dont need briarproof upland pants or double layer stuff. Just something that offers a bit of protection like a worn in pair of levis.

Im thinking l should look into some soft shell pants. In my experience they are pretty rainproof, resist stickers grabbing them, and quiet. And ill have to sacrifice a little weight, packability, and dry time.

Any of you see any better options or have some good softshells?

Im thinking of maybe the kuiu guide pants or the new pro pant.

Sitka timberlines, which I wear in the wetter months here in the PNW, I also wear the First lite guide pants. Both dry quickly, and I haven't had any issues with stickers.

I didn't realize you were talking about the corrugates. Aren't they just nylon pants? Like my voodoos?

The kuiu talus hybrid pants look interesting

See my other post but I think the Talus or Pro would work well. Maybe a slight edge to the Talus but I'd be curious as to how well the waterproof legs hold up to stickers, thorns, etc.

I had the same impression of the voodoos. I liked them but they are thin and don't offer much protection, plus mine seemed to soak up a lot of sweat.
