I've enjoyed painting many guns over the yrs, just go for it.
Recently painted a couple harris bipods and a tikka stock.
I'll have to dig thru the archives for other examples.

Stock Tikka T3 7mm-08. Rattlecan paint job with flat lacquer clear coat. The finish seems less glossy in person than this photo. Swapped in a factory vertical grip, which I’ve since changed to black because I don’t like the coyote color with this paint job. Butt pad is an air tech limbsaver.
