Anyone paint their Carbon Tripod legs? I don’t like to have a lot of black in the field/woods. I prefer earthtone colors.

I think Brian was just hinting that the color of your tripod is pretty dang irrelevant. If you are using a tripod, the animal is typically far enough away that color does not matter. It could be white with no problems.

If you want to paint it, go for it. I hit an old aluminum one with some tan krylon. It will get a little scuffed up on the telescoping portion of the legs.

There was a sale ad some time ago with an Outdoorsmans tripod that was cerakoted green. It sold quick and was very cool looking. I don’t think painting them is necessary but why not if that is what you want.

My thought was that it's a big black spot on my pack which I have learned needs to stay with me. Camo all the things.

I cloth taped the upper leg sections of mine so it wasn’t permanent, didn’t add much weight.

Black can stick out like a sore thumb against Earthtone colors. I don’t care if the paint gets scuffed a bit, I don’t need the tripod to be pretty. I was just wondering if the paint would hurt the carbon? Antelope can pick out Black from a pretty good distance, that’s for sure.
