Painting a stock

Looking at doing a sponge paint job on mine. Once you guys get the camo done do you put anything over the top like a clear coat or just rock with it? I did a spray job on my ar and it rubs off easy but idc about that gun nearly as much as my manners stock.
Multiple coats of Matte Clear coat.

Krylon matte clear does wonders
This stock seem hard use and has not one chip or rub mark

Below is a duracoated G20. Duracoat will last essentially forever on long guns...on pistolsG20 duracoated.jpg holsters will show wear over time. I've also used toothpicks and sponges on others to achieve different looks.

I’m trying to find the pics, but I had a stock sprayed with line-x black, then my dad camo painted a stock and I had line-x clear sprayed on it.

I used duracoat and mixture of OCP and Kuiu Vias stencils from Freedom Stencils on a stock I picked up in the classifieds for cheap. I added marine-tex on the pistol grip for texture and used air curing cerekote on the barrel and action.

I find painting sticks really fun to do. I went ahead and painted my whole rifle, including scope until I ended up putting a different one one . I don’t do a clear coat since I like the way it wears in

Okay, so I didn't quite go full orange. The lines do make for a nice textured grip on the fore end. Still needs matte clear and the tape pulled and bottom metal replaced.

What you see stenciled is a full set (two sheets). I had another set but decided to leave the action area mono. Not sure if that was the right call or not, but I'm just messing around. It was a stockys bare carbon blem, so I needed to do something. I've never painted a stock before and it's just going to get beat up anyway.
