Painting a stock

Sponge method can create a really natural pattern without using a template

I’m a big fan of rustoleum camo colors

I like the webbing spray, it has a texture that adds gription..
I know, not really a word, but makes sense.

Just curious here... (and my OCD kicking in) since the mag sticks down quite a bit, was there a reason you elected not to do-up the portion of the mag that hangs down below the stock?
I like the way the black mag looks with the painted stock.
Painting the stock was done for aesthetics just as much as functionality.

I painted another one a few days ago.

Care to share your method here? This looks fantastic.

I used a stencil kit from freedom stencils. It’s painted using rustoleum spray pay.

2 coats of the orange base layer. I used a gloss for the orange because I wanted the lines to stand out.

Then I put the stencils on.

Then 2 coats of flat black paint.

Removed the stencils and put on 3 coats of a matte clear coat.

I'll have to look into that. I did an orange on black on my stock but it was my first time doing anything like this so it turned out as expected. Looking forward to stripping and redoing it.
