since the hunt where I dropped my pack, on a stump, to put a sneak on a moose then it took over 2 hours for me to find it again I've had an aversion to anything but solid colors for rifles and other stuff (and orange ribbon and accents on the pack) - That said, there is an epoxy spray paint called "Firm Foot" that has some sort of "grit" in it that makes a very good spray can platform to paint a stock - I get it at Forest Paint Products in Eugene, they always give me a handful of extra nozzles because the grit will plug them up but it's a good durable coat that makes for a fun project now and then
The previous owner of my Montana painted it with something but it's flaking off. One day when I'm tired of it I'll probably get it hydrodipped in Kryptek Highlander. Right now it's OD with black webs.
