Got bored and painted my Rokstok. Just wanted to break up the formula 1 looking carbon. Prep was key..light scuff, degrease, light dabs with sponge, matte clear to finish coming tomorrow.

Obviously functions the same, but now the bare carbon doesn’t annoy me.

Anyone else running a DIY finish on theirs? Curious what patterns or colors have worked best for you.

What brake is that on your suppressor? Thoughts on it?

Nice paint
It is silencerco’s integral cap brake that comes with the omega 300. Difference is negligible with smaller calibers, but you can feel the benefit steeping into the 6.5 PRC and up compared to a standard cap.

Great work on the paint job. Still can't get over the looks of that stock. I need to take that negative comb for a test drive, maybe it wont bother me as much afterwards.

It’s a tad grey heavy in hindsight, may fix with some more matte black.

I used Krylon camouflage series olive, flat black, and Krylon fusion matte deep grey.

So you spray the paint on the sponge and dab? Or spray on the stock and dab?

Looks great! Its been a while since I've done this but I've painted a few heavy use waterfowl shotguns over the years. The spray and dab with sponge method always seemed to work well. Just like anything else, prep work is key.

Spray a decent puddle on cardboard, dab torn, irregular piece of sea sponge in pant, dab off excess paint on separate piece of cardboard, dab on stock lightly for subtle colors, harder for more noticeable color. Use new sponge for each color. Use hair dryer to speed dry between coats. Extremely easy!!

Awesome. Thank you!
