Paint jobs on recurve bows?

So we see dozens of pics of DIY painted rifles but has anyone done their bow themselves?
Any reason not to do so?
Thinking of resurrecting an older PSE NightHawk bow and it could use a touch up.

I've seen plenty of painted Recurve risers.

Personally, I don't like the look....makes them look cheap
