Packs (Kuiu vs Kifaru vs EXO Mtn vs Tenzing)

I guess I just need to look up YouTube reviews, a couple responses are good feedback, but many here are not very helpful at all. I was hoping guys would give comparing reviews of the packs listed above they have owned.

What I would want in a pack is the same everyone wants.....something lightweight & comfortable to haul gear/weight with functional pockets & straps. Obviously this differs from person to person but opinion reviews are helpful non the less.

Like: my Kifaru belt and shoulder harness is more comfortable than my Kuiu, but the Kuiu bag seems to have more useful pockets. My Exo frame seems tougher than my Kuiu Etc. MR & SG packs weren't listed in the title, thus aren't being considered in this. When someone asks if u like your Ford or Toyota truck better, it's seems pointless to say well Chevy or Dodge blah blah blah.

Well since we are not helpful, here is a good tip, don't piss on a resource immediately when you ask for a books worth of data in one post and maybe post your thread in the proper section next time. Good luck and I do hope you find your buddy the best pack for him.

Yeah I'll pile on, very rarely do I see someone ask for help then critique the responses. It takes time. If you don't like it scroll on - you ask a "best pack" question and have a problem with a couple other brands getting mentioned. The reason people do that is to point out the strengths in each system. I'd do that for anyone asking that question. Good luck with your decision.

You say that "many here are not helpful at all." That comment is not warranted whatsoever-----rokslide is the most helpful forum on the internet period especially when it involves backcountry hunting. Most guys here will go out of their way to help out one another, even giving up hunting spots.
It sounds like you want what everyone else wants--"the best pack" and you'll have to figure that out for yourself just like everyone else does.
As someone else mentioned there is a shitload of info here on packs and you can do the searches and find them along with other internet avenues.
I have owned and used Kifaru, Exo, Stone Glacier, Barneys, Tenzing, Badlands, Mystery Ranch, etc. and all of them have some features that are good and some that are not so good. In my opinion, the best pack is the one on my back..............

Randy

Post like this are exactly what I mean, pointless!

I said many "comments" not people are not helpful.

It's disappointing that people like yourself who have owned multiple brand packs would waste time commenting with the above ^^^rather than give actual feedback comparing multiple packs you've owned and maybe the reason for your favorite. Why not just say nothing.....that's more helpful.

The reason people come to a community like this: they are seeking "KNOWLEDGE" from those of you with lots of wisdom & experience. It would be nice to stay on the topic posted, give concise detailed feedback when possible so people can make the best buying decision based one first hand experience.

As mentioned before I didn't ask for price points, other brands to confuse the decision, or to go read the backpack forum which I can obviously do without being told. Just solid first hand knowledge and feedback from those who have it.

Why not read & follow the topic and be as helpful to someone else as you would like someone to be to you or your child when possible. "knowledge is power" even if they are just personal opinions

I'm not brand loyal as I don't really give a crap, just wanting quality gear.

What I hoped for was: I started with a EXO & Kuiu or and now have went with Kifaru because of
X.Y.Z.

EXO belt is more or less comfortable than SG/Kuiu because.....

Tenzing is not on the same level as the other two. I use a kifaru and my best friend that i hunt with has a exo. Both are great. I prefer the kifaru.

Thank you brother, that's solid feedback

Your expression of disdain for some of the responses with your rude comeback are what you are going to get when you do that. Give a thread time to unfold and sift through the information. We aren't all professional reviewers, just hunters with experience using many of the products that you asked about. We gladly share what we have learned from our experiences with those that want to know. All of us are biased in one way or another and are using what we are using for various reasons but it's like the old adage, "even a dog will bite the hand that feeds it, if beaten with a stick enough times." So right now, you couldn't pay me enough money to help you out with your request.

Lol more pointless crap. Asking for good first hand feedback = self centered Helpful or nothing at all please you internet troll

Just pass right by then man stop muddying the water.

If u asked me how I like my steaks, I wouldn't tell u how I like my chicken, or even bother commenting if I was a vegetarian

Not muddying the water, just trying to explain to you why any self respecting person wouldn't volunteer sharing their experience and knowledge with the given that they would be ridiculed for stating their opinion.

Hey aeasley10. Have you let your friend try your Kuiu pack on to see if it fits him? Maybe he can try it for a day? I have a exo 3500 pack. And I really like it. It fits me well. I have also tried a kifaru on. I really like the fit and everything. So I am currently saving to get a kifaru.
From being on rokslide for awhile. I have learned regarding packs. That a person just needs to try them and see what fits the best.
There is a wealth of knowledge on rokslide.

If you would like me to be more specific I would be happy to, just let me know what you would like to know.

Thank you.

Have u used both the Duplex and bikini frame? Which do u prefer and why?

Does a Kifaru waist band allow for a handgun or bear spray to be attached?

Your right "best pack" was a mistake I really just wanted feedback on those I mentioned from those owning them which I did say. I didn't mean to be offensive or ungrateful just wanted to keep from muddying the water with info I wasn't asking about.

I guess I'm just different in that if someone asked me about opinions on Matthews or Hoyt bows I wouldn't talk about an Elite. This has now gone way off point, unintentionally which is exactly what I wanted to avoid, as I truly only wanted to help someone make an informed decision and educate myself in the process.

That's the thing man we are in Oklahoma & Texas and don't have access to the different packs anywhere around us. He could try my Kuiu, but Kifaru, EXO, SG, aren't options unless we buy them, which is why I'm trying to narrow the field to 1 or 2 which will be bought used regardless.

I see your point, I just hope you all can understand mine, tho I'm sure I could have stated my thoughts in a much nicer way to not seem ungrateful. I just see guys on archery talk take threads sideways all the time without ever really helping the OP.

Sheesh, Not exactly sure why I disappointed you as all I was trying to do was say that there ALREADY exists a ton of info on packs here and elsewhere.
And since its "more helpful" to you to say nothing, well.......................................................

Randy

P.S.-------Have a good new year.

I don't know man. Your posts on this thread kind of smell trollish.

People give suggestions and you say that's not how you wanted it answered. A post you thanked didn't even give real world experience. He just said Tensing isn't on the same level. He didn't say why. Buy you were good with that so I don't get why someone saying think about a MR is so bad.

I only have a Kifaru so I can't help you telling you how any other pack goes.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yes, I have used both. My preference would be the new style Duplex as it was more comfortable than the Bikini. Having said that, I own the Bikini since I purchased it before the new style Duplex came out. Quite frankly, I didn't see enough of a difference to sell what I had and purchase all over again.
To further delve into this since you said any pack would be purchased used, keep an eye out for a Timberline 1 or 2. It is an internal framed backpack, and by far my favorite because of its comfort with and without a load. It's only drawback (not a big deal in my mind) is that you cannot change out bags for different endeavors. In other words the layout has to work well for you, cause it's not changing.
Yes, you can attach a handgun and or bear spray to the waist belts. The FHF has worked well for me for the bear spray, although I don't have a ton of use with it. I don't carry a pistol so can't really recommend one over another.

I own exo 3500 and a kifaru ul frame with a high camp 7000. And I was going to give my review on them. I read through every post. Before I gave my comment. So I will just keep trolling. Have a happy full new year.

If I recall it was just very direct and on point with my original thread & I believe it was the 2nd or 3rd time I've heard that so just kinda eliminated the Tenzing. Kinda same reason I never mentioned Eberlestock, as I threw on my buddy's loaded pack and it just felt inferior to my Kuiu IMO.

If u look at my original thread it was pretty direct asking for fairly specific feedback on specific items. If you had already narrowed an arrow down to say (Victory VAP or Easton FMJ) u may not find advice on a GT pro hunter useful. JMO
