Pack saw?

I'm gonna add the Bahco Laplander. It has outperformed 2 of my old Silky saws. It cuts in both directions and weighs nothing.

The Wyoming saw 2 is the best in my opinion, breaks down to 4 small pieces, but still has a full 18” bone saw blade.

I love the mini-Dandy saw. It works on wood and on critters. It's tough and durable and sharp as all get out. Well worth the expense.

If it's for the grandson then money is not a concern, take a look at the Agawa Boreal, they come in 15", 21", and 24" sizes. I think the 15" is 15oz without the carry case. The attachment tension system seems to be a bit safer than the average folding saw especially with bloody or wet hands.
First I've seen of that saw. Looks like a winner aside from the blade change options. For wood it looks like it beats most everything.

Silky Zubat 330 with a paracord handle and custom sheath. Superlight and low profile and cuts like a chainsaw. Just buy a replacement blade instead of the whole thing because you’ll throw away the factory handle anyway if you go with this custom set up.IMG_5761.jpegIMG_5759.jpeg

Been carrying the Corona saw for a while. 10 inch blade and 10 Oz. I think i paid $25 on Amazon. It cuts great with minimal effort due to the design. Can't speak to how you would work on a skull , but wood is great

I've got one of those and like it alot, but I won't pack it on a backpack hunt.

For that I made a cheapo diy saw.

3/4" poplar dowel I had laying around. Notched to accept a sawzall blade. I think I used one of those Diablo pruning blades, 6-8", because I had an old one in hand. Drill through the dowel and blade in two spots and then anchor with a screw or bolt/nut. Made a PVC blade sheath for it.

It's about 2oz if I remember correctly. cuts well but maybe is too aggressive.
