Pack options for daughter

I’m looking at pack options for my daughter. She had been running a smaller Osprey bag that she had used for day hikes/short overnights but wanted something with a meat shelf. She is 16 but pretty tiny. She is primarily day hunting for now, carrying extra layers, snacks, water, snacks (lol) harness, etc. and packing out whitetails (pretty regularly I might add) and usually splitting the meat between 2-3 family members. Last year we got her a Kuiu frame w/women’s suspension and 3600 bag. I’ve been running that setup (with the man suspension) for several years and have been very happy with comfort and features. Be slightly biased towards the pack and a stubborn man I was kinda forcing the selection knowing the frame was a little tall. She has used it for 2 seasons and hasn’t complained but I can see it’s too tall, load lifters are at a way bad angle and straps are bottomed out. I’ve been doing some research and leaning towards the EXO Mountain K4 EXS. Would love to have her try on before buying but not sure if Exo visits any trade shows out our way. Would love to see them come to the PA sport show in Harrisburg. Wondering if anyone has had experience with this pack for a younger girl or any other suggestions. My son is a little younger but bigger and catching up to me so I plan to repurpose her setup for him and add a men’s suspension. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I can tell u my wife's experience with packs. We hunt out of state DIY alot and she has packed piles of animals out over the years. She has used Kuiu, Mystery Ranch, and Stone Glacier. Never fit her great or super comfortable for her. Then we got her a Exo K3 couple years ago. Fit her perfectly and she loves it. Just her experience with packs.

Western Edge Gear could be another option if she is really short, or at least long legged/short torso. I believe the Exo has a 22 inch frame, and it is a very nice setup. Our frames are 18, 20, and 22 inch, and can be swapped around to get the right fit. Although we originally intended them for kids, women have found them useful, too.

Good luck on your search.

I’ll check those out. She is short legged and short torso so that might be the ticket. Thanks for the info!

Bought my daughter a Kuiu women’s on close out, I keep finding my K4 with the belt changed to small and shoulder straps a lot lower
