I can’t help you on comparing different boots, but I can give my opinion on the schnees.
At the end of 2017 hunting season I swore off rubber boots, I was sick of damp feet in the stand, and they just were not warm for me. Decided to get a nice pair of pacs and went with the 10” Schnee hunter. Main use was for all around winter use, along with being my main tree stand boot for back home.
I got the boots end of 2017, ended up using them all winter scouting, snow shoeing and ice fishing. Worked well, little wear on the rubber and leather but nothing crazy. Back in the box they went till October of last year to keep the bottoms from drying.
2018 I ended up throwing an extra felt Insole in them, helped with warmth when sitting. I used the boots beginning October, and am still using them for winter stuff. They were a decently warm boot on the stand, better than my mucks. Good traction in the snow. Have spent days on the ice in 6” of slush and had dry feet. They have held up great, no cracking yet. Snowshoe bindings really beat them up.
I wish I would have went with the extreme boots, for a little extra warmth in my climate, and may get them resolved with the heavier bottom if that’s an option. Everything else on the boot is holding up, the leather has held up, though not the most waterproof iv seen.
I wouldn’t be worried to give them a try. No major digs, I mean come on they are a rubber bottomed pack boot. When I end up getting new pacs I may check out Hoffmann due to price, and positive reviews.
