Ozzy has left the chat.

I don't care much about celebrities, but this one actually has me feeling a true sadness in my stomach.

For the last two weeks I have been playing youtube videos of the Back to The Beginning show with my kids almost every morning when we are all getting ready.

I was 7 when I first heard Diary of a madman. I borrowed the cassette from an older brother of one of my buddies. I had to sneak it in the house, so my mom wouldn't see it.
The intro to Diary of a madman started me off on an auditory journey that continues to this day and accusations from my mom about listening to that damn devil music.

Blizzard of Ozz was my first album at 5 years old.
I had a teen Mom and all that came with that growing up in Detroit. One of her burnout boyfriends gave it to me and I played it non stop on my red Mickey Mouse record player.
Completely shaped my life, as music has been my career for 29 years.

RIP OZZY

Can't imagine the nerve it struck when folks first heard Sabbath in 1970!

Always have been a Sabbath fan, but really enjoyed watching Ozzy when he was touring the country with his son, entertaining!

God speed OZ!!!!

He had an unbelievable career. I've been getting back into the material from the Jake E. Lee era. For some reason, he is often overlooked, but there is a case to be made that he was the most skilled guitar player that Ozzy ever had.

I remember War Pigs from my youth. Now that I'm older, I understand all the truth it contains.

He had health issues, but man what a way to go. Does a show a few weeks ago, and then shuffles off this mortal coil today. Lucky SOB.

RIP Ozzy.

Eddie

yup. I mean talk about going out in a blaze of glory. Incredible concert to a huge fan base, the ORIGINAL Black Sabbath on stage, unbelievable amount of money raised for charity... GREAT songs for half a century... amazing

It's great that he was able to patch things up with his Sabbath mates before he left us.
