I am headed to Nebraska the first week in November to bow hunt mule deer. I will be mainly hunting spot and stalk in canyons with cedars. All my current outer wear is focused for tree stand hunting. Have been looking at Wooltimate from Cabelas but hear that it is pretty heavy and might be to warm for spot and stalk. I have only ever rifle hunted this place when I was a kid and I am sure I wore Carhartt. Would really like something with wind proof. Appreciate any help.

Sitka Jetstream jacket if you want a soft shell, or try the Kuiu Peloton 240. It's not completely windproof but I've heard a lot of good things about it being wind resistant.

Jet Stream is Great choice. It blocks wind with Gore and light rain, pit zips are great feature.

You still will need good base and mid-layers.

I have Wooltimate also but it's so heavy I only use it for stand hunting.

I am sure Sitka is worth the price but its probably out of budget. I do hope to elk hunt within in the next 2 years so maybe I could justify Sitka if it could be used for both. What would be a good Sitka pants and jacket combo for mid to late season.

What pattern of wooltimate. That is what I wear for my ultra cold gear. From 35 down I wear my Kryptek Vellus, Cadog, or KUIU guides. Warmer than that I have Skre Hardscrabble. If you do change to a different brand make sure you get something with hip vents. those are really nice at regulating heat when moving.
