I would guess this is manufacturing capacity costs. The price of the aluminum in the products is a minor input. Every machine shop I know of is booked solid and if you want something made you’re going to have to pay enough to bump someone else’s product off the machine. I’d bet their production contracts were up and the machine shop asked for a substantial price increase. There’s supplier price strength in just about every industry right now.
