Outdoorsman pistol grip/shooting V

Anybody running the outdoorsman shooting V on the pistol grip head for a rifle rest?

I have played with it, but you can also just pivot the pistol grip 90* to the side for a rifle rest. You can do that with optic still attached even.

How solid of a rest has that been for you?

I think that is more dependent on the weight and construction of your tripod than the Outdoorsman pistol grip or shooting V, they will be solid.
