Wish they made Crocodile gaiters in earth tones or camo. Makes me think they specifically don't so they won't be used by hunters. Why else wouldn't they?

Have used them for years hiking and hunting. Bivys, gaiters, hats, gloves, a jacket or two. Love their stuff. Their tactical line is outstanding and comes in hunting colors and multicam.

They do make them in multi cam. There’s a pair for sale here somewhere

Ya, but those are for sale as surplus on eBay, correct? And aren't they the Expedition models?

When I go to their site the Crocodiles don't come in earth tones. They have one with a weird reddish brown and black, but tan or green is not an option. I just find it weird.

While I dont know their stance on hunting, to assume they dont want hunters using their product because the dont make a certain color seems to be a bit of a stretch. They do offer camo in some other gaiters. And, I also have good news. You CAN use the black ones for hunting....I've seen me do it.

OR has put out numerous products with camouflage material (multicam). Let alone the dozens upon dozens of options they offer in earth tones.

Call me crazy, I'd even suggest this gaiter that you're talking about could even be classified as 'earth tone'. They just happen to be out of stock.

Also, if it were true they didn’t want hunters wearing their gear, I’m guessing they wouldn’t make anything in earth tones -lots of general outdoor companies do not use earth tones at all, but OR does. Plus, can you imagine how many thousands of caribou have been killed in Alaska sporting OR gaiters?

I use the Interstellar rain jacket. Comes with me on every hunt. And when biking to work in the rain. It works and it’s light.

Also have the Ferrosi soft shell jacket. It’s basically just a very light breathable shell, not waterproof. Just to take the chill off. Since it’s slightly heavier than the interstellar, not waterproof, and not much of an insulator I don’t generally bring backpacking. But if it’s not very cold out and rain is very unlikely it’s a nice shell. Lots of folks use the ferrosi pants.

Oh and the Rocky Mtn High Gaiters. They work, but not very quiet if they happen to run.

They used to make a lot more products in Multicam. Must not have been selling

They even have some in RealTree camo if Multicam isn’t camo enough

Not Crocodile.

Black works. I just think it's odd they don't make hunting friendly colors in their most popular gaiter. I see they now sell that brownish one but it is mixed with black and is kind of a funny color. I don't think it's too much to ask for a brown or green gaiter.

Isn't the MC military surplus that they don't sell to the public? I bought a pair on eBay, but they were really heavy and didn't fit.

On a side note, I was watching K2 videos on YouTube, old ones from the 70's and early 80's and as they were preparing for the push to the summit in their tents one of the climbers had a OR branded mitten hanging from his sleeve. Though it was cool. No doubt their stuff is the real deal, I just want different color Crocodiles.

The OR Expedition Crocodile GTX Gaiters I have are in Coyote Brown. They were plentiful when I got mine but may have been a military limited run color. You might want to check with some surplus sellers. The OR Neoplume jacket and OR Foray rain shell I have are a dull grey color. Both work well with my First Lite, Sitka & Kuiu gear.

Base layers, underwear, pants, shirts, gloves, shells, puffys, gaiters....I've never had a quality issue with any of it.

I love my OR Ferrosi gridded hooded jacket, very windproof and no insulation at high exertion areas. Payed a fraction the cost of a hunting brand in earth tones, my go to for late season hunting.

Compared to my Kuiu Peloton 240 it does not dry near as quick, but not really a fair comparison as two different jackets. I will be buying more OR in the future.

I use a lot of OR gear. I've been happy with all of it. I did rip the groin out of a pair of Furio pants skiing (did the splits while crashing) and they provided me a full credit under warranty. I have abused a Furio jacket pretty hard and it is still going, and my Foray pants and jacket have held up much longer than I expected from lightweight 2.5 layer gear. Everything else I have bought from them I like as well, however, they do make some products that did not impress me on first inspection, so I bought something else.
