Our groups Nor-Cal opening week bucks!

Heres some pics from our groups opening week blacktail bucks (just E of 5) we got. It was a great week on some super deer! Short summary on mine was I had him patterned and on opening day he paid the price for emerging from his bed a little to early. 25 yard shot and 50 yard recovery! He had great heavy mass and a cool unique basket rack. We were all stoked with the weeks results!

Our friend Cindy came out from Arizona and made her trip a success with a great shot on a great super tall buck!

Here was my opening week buck from our group. I sat an waited for 3 days til this guy showed up. He was a super heavy old buck that I thought had moved out of the area. No sign of him on our cameras for over. 2 weeks. He typically ran solo and the night I saw him was no different. He appeared right at last light like a silent ghost and gave me a 27 yard shot. Dropped him in his tracks and one arrow later called him mine!! His bases almost touched and I estimated him about 160 lbs live weight. Awesome first week.

bucks here have been transitioning to acorns the last couple weeks and I found some white oaks raining down acorns with a lot of deer sign. on the last day of the bow season I put brent (passthru) in a blind near one of the oaks and this great buck came by and paid the price. great job buddy!
