Nice work. Love the tipi set up.
I live in alberta as well and I would say the stove isn't overkill at all. I have 3 different sheep hunts planned with a tipi and stove this year. I think it will pay for itself the first day u get back to camp soaked to the bone. or the first -10 morning that's too damn cold to crawl out of the tent so u just lean over and light the stove. The wood stove in the tipi might have been a little over kill at this time of year but this is one of the few times that I hunted with a partner so splitting the pack loads I thought it would be a luxury worth paying the 3 1/2 lb weight penalty for. I'll tell you what, rolling over and lighting the stove so I can drag my 47yr old bones out of my bag and into a warm shelter is priceless. :-D

Clint a non resident Canadian can do it but they have to draw the tag first with less than 1% chance of drawing. A non resident alien must go through an outfitter. In order for your buddy to host you for spring bear he must start the process by Feb. 28. it can be time consuming I wouldn't wait till the last minute.
Bikerdave I am blessed to live where I do but I have a brother in law who lives in Colorado and he seams to enjoy elk every year.![]()
Good luck to you Ryan, I'm sure you know as well as I do that hunting Big Horns is as much about taking in, and enjoying your time in the mountains as it is about killing sheep.
i was planning on doing it in the fall so i could maybe combine it with another species.
