Had a few great days of hunting up in the hometown. Met a new friend off of this sight. Typically skeptical of anyone off a forum I decided to hunt with this guy due to the fact he was a veteran. Glad I did. We had a great time scouring the hills for big bucks n elk. I really messed up a 40 yard shot on a big bull and watched my arrow deflect off a limb. Tried to give my buddy Matt/Mountainsurfer the chance to shoot this buck but it stumbled into me at 8 yards. I was not going to shoot unless he saw me. Unfortunately he looked up saw me and the second I knew the flinch meant he was gonna bolt I let him have it. Anyways had a sad end to my trip when I was not able to find a large bull I stuck after blood trailing over 4 ridges. At that point I hung it up out of respect for the critter I could not find. The buck is pretty cool lots of character a 6 x 3 with a lot of mass. Super tall with deep back forks.
