OTC Hunt - September 4 - 12

Anyone got a suggestion for an OTC hunt from September 4 - 12.

What state? What animals are you interested in hunting?

I'm open to any state. First time I've had the opportunity to take this much time off during this time of the year. I would prefer Whitetail, Mule Deer or antelope.

The ideal scenario would have been to draw a tag but my PTO wasn't approved in time.

This late in the year I think you're stuck with Whitetails. A handful of states have September 1 openers for archery, but most of the southern states would not be high on my personal must do list in early September due to the heat and humidity. Look into ND. I think their WT bow licenses are still OTC.

Thanks for the replies. I live in West Virginia, so I could stick around here for urban archery and black bears but I really want to do a public land whitetail hunt.

North Dakota is the most likely target. Kentucky is an option but I always get eat up with chiggers and seed ticks on the eastern side of KY.

The seed ticks are insane. I’ve never had anything itch so awful. They’re really bad in TN.
