OTB Suppressors - Extreme Heat?

I get to do most of my range time with my rifles during the N Texas summer where 90+ degree heat is the norm. I don't shoot AR's or mag dump into the trash. I shoot bolt action rifles (223 to 7BC) at a moderate pace. But, everything gets hot fast.

Suppressed or not, I do struggle to keep barrels cool. From what I can tell, my AB Raptor 8 seems and the attached barrel seems to cool down faster than my traditional suppressors. That seems counterintuitive.

Have any of you tested OTB barrels for heat dissipation?

The reflex portion dosnt get very hot on my og6.5. Atleast not nearly at the rate that the front does.

In the heat there is no way around it, a suppressor cover and a Milwaukee battery powdered fan make more difference than anything else.

Maybe it’s due to the extra volume of the reflex/OTB amount? If so, it would make sense because my “low volume” AirLock Nano and ZG65 heat up very fast.
