I drew the regular season buck tag with no points. Im hearing from people that it has gone drastically downhill for deer and I should take the first buck I see. Is this everyone's experience? Thanks guys

I would agree that mule deer are definitely down. Ive hunted weneha for elk several times and saw a lot of nice bucks but they were mostly whitetail. I believe my tag covers bothYou could probably say that same thing about any of the new mule deer units, most all of them are below management objective.
Did you get the regular season or score the late tag?I would agree that mule deer are definitely down. Ive hunted weneha for elk several times and saw a lot of nice bucks but they were mostly whitetail. I believe my tag covers both
Its just the regular season tag. It is any buck though. Specieis doesnt matterI believe the NE 5 and 6 ones are the only "any buck" tags out of that NE region.. did you get the regular season or score the late tag?
If you got the November tag I would never shoot the first buck you see! Seems like any eastside tag that has a late season can always produce nicer bucks, which always leads me to believe a patient guy can get lucky in the earlier seasons too!
I see well either way I think its as good as any other tag.. they're all tough but they all still hold the opportunity to find some nice deer! Its just the regular season tag. It is any buck though. Specieis doesnt matter
Oh I definitely dont think its ruinedI see well either way I think its as good as any other tag.. they're all tough but they all still hold the opportunity to find some nice deer!
I may be a delirious optimist, but the people that say every unit is ruined are more delirious IMHO.. just gotta get out there and put the work in!
Nobody said the units are ruined its just that the mule deer in Oregon are facing some tough conditions like they are in most Western states. Do some big bucks get killed every yea rin Oregon - yes but look at the actual population for each unit - its not uber terrific but maybe thats because I'm deliriousI see well either way I think its as good as any other tag.. they're all tough but they all still hold the opportunity to find some nice deer!
