Oregon Wolves - What can outdoorsmen do?

Thanks for the really helpful post that’s got absolutely nothing to do with what was asked.
The original question was:
  • What legally can I do to discourage wolves from a public land area?
  • What legal actions can I take to get involved with the State of Oregon?
The wolf introduction was instigated by animal rights (AR) organizations, which are anti-hunting and anti-meat eating because they’re based on a misanthropic attitude towards all humanity!

I’ve been heavily involved in the opposition against the AR agenda since 2003 on a local, state and national basis – and originally introduced to the AR agenda in 1993. I’ve come to know many of our state legislators and I’m able to predict how they’re going to vote and predict what they’re going to support and predict who they’ll support!

The original question was asking for a "legal means" of wolf control. We know that hazing eventually doesn’t work after a while because wolves are intelligent enough to know when they’re being deceived! Most of the answers have involved SSS – which is illegal. However, we know a hunted animal becomes more elusive because of that hunting pressure and I know our Oregon politicians on the left will never willingly allow wolves to be hunted!

Here is why:
The AR agenda is mainly supported by the left and by politicians on the left! You’ll find the leader of the Oregon Senate and the leader of the Oregon House of Representatives tend to put pressure on their Senators and Representatives to support and vote for the bills, which are written and introduced by the AR organizations those leaders support! Since Oregon is run by the left and this type of pressure is typical of the left and Oregon will continue to be run by the left, Oregon will continue to make it difficult to impossible to control any predator, including wolves!

The only way out of this mess is for eastern Oregon to align with a state which actually makes it easier to control wolves – and that’s Idaho! In other words – move the Idaho border!

How’s the wolf population in Idaho doing?
Edit: Not trying to pick a fight or debate you. I’m just so very ******* tired of people forcing Trump into conversations as if he is some Christ like figure. He is very clearly not.

In Idaho they can hunt them and we can't -- nor is it likely ever to happen because of our political climate! Speaking of Trump -- you may not like him but he gets things done!

He sure does. How’s your 401k doing? Again not trying to discuss politics, but you just keep at it.

Life is about much more than your 401k bub . I would think being part of this place would make it obvious .

My 401k is down but I have complete faith it'll do just fine and come back up. Besides that, I've got other monthly income and don't depend on a 401k. I've been retired since the age of 50 because of other diversified investments. The current administration is getting this nation back on track from the previous managed decline and you'll find you 2nd amendment rights are finally safe on a national level! Our 2nd amendment rights are under attack in my state of Oregon but I have faith the efforts of that side of the aisle will be overturned by the courts! In fact, absolutely everything I love is under attack by the left including ownership of my pets! As I write, I'm getting ready to drive to my state capitol to oppose the latest efforts to weaken pet ownership!

Which is the reason for my initial comment. Life is about a lot of things. I find it annoying that some people find anyway to work the president into nearly every conversation. I don’t see how he has anything to do with what is being discussed. Moving the Idaho border to include eastern Oregon has nothing to do with solving the issue being discussed either.

I think you are being a bit dramatic . Yes moving the Idaho boarder helps residents of eastern Oregon . Unfortunately there are people in power in Salem , Sacramento , Carson city who despise hunting and have nary a care In The world about helping hunters ,ranchers , outdoorsman.

How can you logically deny this?
Sure take the president out of it . How about the choads like gruesome Gavin and Tina kotek. You would have to be high to think their personal agenda and leanings don’t affect policy

Has the wolf population in Idaho gone up or down? Not refuting your claims of helping eastern Oregon. Not trying to talk about it at all honestly. Y’all aren’t trying to answer the question at hand. I’m not being dramatic. I’m being irritable. Have a good day.

Not to rub salt in the wound but yes people in Idaho are better off than in Oregon when it relates to human /livestock / Wolf interaction and wildlife predation . And yes the imaginary line on a map matters
In Idaho you can shoot them basically on sight .
In Oregon they can have a lamb and calf smorgasborg while you watch and do nothing

Predators are not fluffy pets they must be managed . If a wolf is acting a fool in front of a human it needs to be shot or it will soon not care to the point that they will be killing hikers and kids .
Sorry that you are irritable I suppose you know how I felt for the last 4 years

Speaking of being irritable -- I had to attend a Senate Work Session in Salem today to oppose and animal rights (AR) effort to include purebred show dog breeders in a bill addressing the lucrative Retail Rescue Trade in Oregon! Show dog breeders were thrown in as an amendment because of the anti-breeding sentiment by one of the committee members! Of course we assumed we knew how the vote would go and it did go that way with the 3 Dems voting for it and the 2 Republicans voting against it! It's the very same side of the aisle against Show Breeders -- as against hunting, -- as against guns -- as against motorized ATV's on the roads of BLM land -- as against about everything I do -- and oh yes -- as against controlling wolves too! A waste of a good day!
The good part -- I learned how to control my irritability a long time ago -- and I got to exercise that ability today!

Other than almost nothing, what does the Legislature have to do with managing Oregon wolves?

1- What legally can I do to discourage wolves from a public land area? Specifically a drainage without impacting other wildlife.

… For example, and this might sound ridiculous, but in a specific drainage could a guy setup a loud sound machine with a frequency that impacts canines (like a dog whistle) or would that legally be considered wildlife harassment?
At the risk of answering your question directly and without letting my own irritability get the better of me, I have to imagine that in the areas of the state where wolves are managed under the ESA, what you are describing (or things like it) would constitute harassment, which is a form of illegal take prohibited by ESA Sec. 9.

"At the risk of answering your question" ha ha. I see what you did there. good one.

try Google
Ok well thank you for the wildly informative answer.

Are you suggesting that the Oregon fish and wildlife commissioners are not somehow appointed by the governor ? And the Oregon senate has to confirm their appointments ? And the governor is not somehow emboldened by sweeping support for his agendas and ideals by the legislature who he rubber stamps and vise Versa ?
should I also Google how policy is made ? And whom in particular has a sweeping policy of "no predator management "

And there you have it. We just need to fix government corruption and partisanship to solve the wolf problem. Glad you’re here to tell us about it. You really answered the question with that one.
