I did find this update. Case was dismissed in federal court.

Criminal case dismissed against federal burn manager in rural Oregon

A criminal charge has been dismissed against a U.S. Forest Service employee arrested in 2022 by a rural Oregon sheriff after a prescribed burn on federal land unexpectedly spread to private property and burned roughly 20 acres.

I know there's a bunch of history, and understand it somewhat but also i understand where the Feds now don't want to step in or the fire companies don't want to.

Hope they get this controlled quick. I have spent a lot of years up in that area hunting and have made some pretty good friends. I’d hate to see any more loss. Spray is a neat little town, and Service Creek is pretty vulnerable where it sits.

Just heard another friend up there on Cottonwood road is threatened by another big fire less than a mile away. The entire eastern part of the state is burning. Terrible
