Oregon Resident Mule Deer Hunting info

No I’m equally against poaching, get off your cross bud.

There’s multiple factors facing our mule deer herds, poaching and tribal harvest are definitely factor
Oh damn quit trying to BS! yourself now your always spewing out one sided garbage talking out your bootyhole now all a sudden your equal!? 🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️👎🏽👎🏽

There’s multiple big deer killed in Oregon every year and there’s some units that are consistently putting out 170-190 bucks.
A very few handful of decent bucks.
Taken by some of the best hunters.
It not within reach of the average hunter.

I will agree Metolius is garbage and all hunting should be stopped there for 5 years minimum.
And I think native deeded hunting right treaty should be burned.

The average fork truck hunter will have the same outcome no matter the unit/state/season.

There’s plenty of decent deer to be killed on relatively easy to draw tags. My buddies went 4/4 on 165-185 bucks last year on a 4 point tag. The burns have opened up a lot of prime habitat the last decade and there’s getting to be some better age class deer on public. Certain units will be tough but that being said there’s bright spots.

There’s several units I come back to hunt in Oregon still even though I’m an Idaho resident, it’s not an accident.

All on public? If so they are doing above average for sure (y) I know the 4 preference point unit I mostly hunt in has some small pockets of good hunting but not unit-wide even in the burns, maybe that will change??

Yup, it’s not unit wide in any unit, but there’s some units that are recovering a bit. I want to go hunt the desert one of these years to see if any of the deer we see chukar hunting live out there.

Oregon still has decent bucks, it’s worth the effort for residents that have points. There’s been good bucks killed in the eastern sage and that country can be fairly mild but productive if you’re good behind the glass.
