Oregon Coastal Blacktail

I was still hunting through timber and was able to stalk into 30 yards on this buck. Everything was going great till the shot broke and I twitched. The shot hit great elevation but was back. After finding my arrow covered in guts, I made the hard decision to pull out. Unfortunately it poured rain all night and when I got back at daylight there was no sign anywhere. Began to contour the area back and forth when I found him. It was a great to relief to find him and he had died. Got him packed out and the meat is just fine. My arrow had nicked the liver.

Nice old buck man.. and nice work finding him. Blacktails, to me, are the hardest things to kill, especially old ones. By the way, I went to UCC with you. I don't remember which classes.
