Are you in state or traveling from out of state? The terrain differs but very similar. The closer to the coast the more bears. U want logging to see and long range, however the old growth along creek bottom with skunk cabbage are good areas for close shooting. If u need more dm me.

Cool, I would throw a dart at Roseburg as a starting point. Go either east and west from there. Onyx will be your friend. Our bears will start popping out very soon. Just heard of a neighbor having an encounter with a bear last night. Welcome the dm.

Thanks man! I've drawn this tag before, but only hunted the Northern part of the tioga unit, and some of the the indigo unit. I didn't have much success at all - I fear I wasn't going as South as needed. From what I understand, the further west you are in this 722a hunt, the high density of bears there are?

Very correct and they actually have a lot of bears around Florence area as well, wink.

Also heard that Grants Pass has good numbers? Seems like at first glance you really just have to hunt the rogue river NF either to the west or the south - avoid that?

There are lots of bears there as well I am told. Get on onyx and look for some of the older burns since most NF are not timber harvest to open up forage. I’ve never hunted that far south. Starting to expand further that way though.

My wife drew 752A. But the bear hunting usually turns into turkey hunting.

Turkey hunt until noon, take a lunch break and bear hunt 3-dark… you can maximize efficiency of hunting both species at prime time for each critter
