I'm looking for other options for a stay on case for my Kowa TSN 553, and was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction to hopefully keep from spending $125 for the Kowa case.

Ryan put a Razor neoprene cover on his from the 11-33x50. Called it the anti theft cover lol.

I saw a guy wrap tennis grip around his. padded and protected for $4 and it was protected very well (and removable)

Custom Cabelas sock. You'll be the envy of all your buds.

I like that tennis racquet grip tape idea. I might give that a shot.

Yeah, I know, but I was trying to keep from having to spend $125 for a stay on case.

The scope coat for Vortex razor 50 angled spotting scope will work if you can find one. You will have to cut a bigger hole at the focus wheels. It's a tight fit but it will work great.

Ordered one from Creedmoor for my 553 few weeks ago. Called them up and they said they do covers for the Kowas a lot. Have yet to receive it, but couldn’t find many negative reviews anywhere.

Razor skopecoat customized! Cut all the crap off. Use the factory lens caps with tethers.

I don't own a Kowa 55, but I have looked through one and it was an awesome scope. It's a ton of performance in a portable package. I had the opportunity to compare the 55 to my 88 (which is probably the most impressive piece of kit I have ever come across and one of my prized possessions). The 55 can't compete with the 88 in terms of brightness, but it was still plenty bright at dusk. In all other facets it is basically a mini 88.

I am sure you will love the 55. I have thought about getting one myself for packing during elk hunts. Kowa makes world class stuff.
