My 308 load drops below 1800 fps past 500yds. My 7-08 load is still above 1800 fps at 1000yds. All of this is according to the app.

What is the twist on your barrel?

12 twist is what populated for the 7mm-08 initially. What is your rifle twist. I e seen many different for 7mm-08.

No. That load will drop below 1,800fps at about 600 yards.

I know of it but haven’t used it, but know of others who do and they like it. I just think somewhere there’s a piece of data input wrong in the calculation. I’ve done it myself on occasion.

No. There is something else widely incorrect.

Take screen shots of the rifle setup page, load setup page, and the calculate page.

Been really pleased with 130ttsx at 3200 out if my 22” kimber. Zero recoil, super flat, very good terminal performance.

The only thing that could be wrong is the BC. It’s not corrected, it’s what they list it as.

Do you have the G1 BC number in as G7? I could see a .480 G7 producing that result.

To get back to the question, I load my .308 Win with 155gr Lapua Scenar L, over as much Varget as it takes to get to 2900-2950fps. Same load gets 2900 in my 20" barrel and 2950ish in my 23" barrel. I have not killed any critters past 500 yards with this load, but it has the velocity to go to 700.

The 155 or 168 TMK, and Hornady 168 ELD-M would be worth looking at as well, IMO. I'd try Accurate 2520, 4064 or Ramshot Big Game with the heavier bullets. I know some like the heavier Berger bullets like the Juggernaut in the .308, but I never tried them. The above was suggested and worked, so I never changed.
