Check out Crimson trace. I have a hardline pro 5-20x50 for my bergara 7mm rem mag and I love it. It has been one of my favorite scopes. I have the privilege of getting to shoot some high end scopes that belongs to clients, such as leupolds mark 6, Revic, Khales, night force, and huskama. I still really like my Crimson Trace and it was way more affordable. Sig makes a good one too.

As far as ffp or sfp I agree it depends on your style and what makes the most sense to you. Both have their place. If you are wanting to go with a moa or mil style reticle ffp will make your life easier if you are going for a simple duplex reticle or something similar or even a lower power scope sfp is just fine.
